Not to mention the composition with the wedge of the dark cloud mirroring the wedge of the mountains.
It is interesting to learn that distance allows me to see the beauty of the Rockies; otherwise, trees, buildings, fences become barriers. All this in contrast to the recommendation to photographers to “get closer.” 🙂
What you see is what you see because you see it. It’s your vision. Some of the best landscapes I’ve ever seen have been telephoto shots or shot from a distance. You can study the experts but in the end you make your own decisions.
