lens-artists … sound

Creating sound within the frozen moments of a photograph – introduced by Ted Forbes in his discussions of rhythm and tempo.

Rhythm I – all around us are shapes that are pretty basic and similar to each other. We will see them repeating at regular intervals within nature, design, works of art, architecture, and photography

Rhythm II – the primary characteristic of rhythm is predictability and order.

Tempo – the means by which we display speed, movement, as well as the passing of time all within a frozen moment.

Have you heard the silence within a snow storm?

Sending gratitude to Wind Kisses for this week’s Lens-artists challenge: sound

  1. “Creating sound within the frozen moments of a photograph”. Perfectly said to introduce and bring understanding to the subject. I especially love the first photo for that reason. You can almost hear the man’s footsteps, while he walks in front of the jazz-themed bistro. The tempo photo was alive with all sorts of sound, including the movement and the expressions. But you know the last one feels like a deep sigh… Thank you Brenda. Well done.

    1. Thank you for this challenge which invited me to review Ted Forbes videos… also this challenge is an invitation to engage with the world through photo walks. .

      1. Yes, I have enjoyed the world walks as well. I always do. Here we all are sitting at our computers sharing tidbits of our life, which are often so different from others. We are together on that, Brenda. How lucky we are.

  2. I agree with the others…what a creative approach. Unique and beautiful! I especially love your opening image and the children in motion.
