universe in a grain

The beginning of the sustenance of life

Is all in yin and yang.

The limitless can open up

The light of the great limit.

Diligently polished, the mirror of mind

Is bright as the moon;

The universe in a grain

May rise, or it may hide.

weekly photo challenge: on the way

On and on I travel;

Though I fall and die, let it be

In fields of clover.

Within The Narrow Road to Oku, Basho shares his journey through prose as well as haiku… which seems to me to fit this week’s photo challenge:  On the Way

peaceful spring

Day by day, day by day, and day by day,

quietly in the company of children I live.

In my sleeves, tiny embroidered balls, two or three.

Useless, intoxicated, in this peaceful spring.
