Tu Fu to Tao-Chien Across the Centuries
Gone in a flash the bright flowers.
Old. How I wish they would stay!
Why can’t these present things
Be back in our younger days?
Drinking – sets free the mind
Writing – unfolds the heart
We would meet, Tao, in this thought
Though we cannot meet in time.
~Tu Fu (712-770)

I’m thinking this image of a passing tourist bus reflected in a window fits this week’s theme: Frame; especially in the lower left corner.
If someone asks
about the mind of this monk,
say it is no more than
a passage of wind
in the vast sky.

Within but a single night
The cherry blossoms vanish
And are completely gone

The path is hidden
by Dharma,
invisible,
but memories of you
lead me onward

Ah, the deep woods –
so quiet one can hear
blossoms fall
